The Latvian startup platform, Startup Latvia, has been launched. It will serve as a centralized location for all information about programs and initiatives available to startups.
The Startup Latvia platform includes information on the startup visa initiative, different monetary support options, as well as a comprehensive database of Latvian startups. Any startups, local and abroad, looking for information on available support are invited to visit the platform.
In the opening remarks, the Minister of Economics, Arvils Aseradens, highlighted the interest of international players in the local Latvian startup scene. He emphasized that this is a growing ecosystem with immense potential.
Meanwhile the head of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, Andris Ozols, emphasized that Latvia is a country with a high quality of life, with everything available to satisfy a modern individual. He spoke to the foreigners at the barbeque, and implored them to consider living in Latvia, as well as expressed hope that we will see ever more international participants at the annual startup barbeque.
The event was hosted in cooperation with the coworking space TechHub Riga, TechChill, the Latvian Startup Association Startin.lv, and the startup accelerator program Startup Wise Guys. A beer pong tournament was hosted by Twino, and a children's corner was hosted by Learn It.
