Latvian Branchtrack lands 3rd at Latitude59 pitch contest

Latvian Branchtrack is the most trending of #LVstartups recently - they made it to LOGIN 2015 finals, landed 3rd in Latitude59 and are among top30 competing for Arctic15 finals. They were also the most mentioned pitching startup on Twitter during Latitude59. 

Latvian Post becomes a customer of QMinder

Lastvian Post announced this week that customers can now use QMinder app to track their progres in post lines. This is good news for QMinder who just earned a big client, but also for many Latvians who have so far been spending hours sitting in lines of the biggest post offices.


Alise Lezdina departs from TechHub Riga to build her own startup

Alise Lezdina, who has been running TechHub Riga for the last years has decided to move on and found her own startup. She revealed that she is currently testing several ideas with potential customers and will announce more details once the winning venture is selected. So far we do not know the industry and can only speculate based on Alise's interests in tech, sustainability and personal development.

TechHub Riga will from now on be led by Egita Polanska who has proven herself to the community as TechHub Riga events manager and chief organizer of Latvia's flagship tech startup conference TechChill Baltics

PentaClass demonstrated in London, acquired new reseller in the UK

Latvian edtech audio hardware PentaClass has approved a new reseller in the UK and followed up with several UK schools interested in the product since Bett Show in January. 


eHealth week takes place in Latvia 

Annual European eHealth confference eHealth Week organized by EU Comission and EU Presidency took place in Latvia from May 11 to May 13. The event programme encompassed a wide range of activities - sessions for policy makers, national leaders, industry players and open sessions. 

Latvian and EU officials discussed collaboration and practical integration of eHealth possibilities into existing health systems, visited IT Demo centre exhibition, explored Latvian ambulance fleet and more. Read more here


Winners of Clusterpoint challenge announced

Latvian Database as a Service Clusterpoint had earlier announced a develper challenge for the most creative application of their product. The winners are now announced:

1st place and €3,000 goes to "Saeima stenogramms"
2nd place and €2,000 goes to "Media barometer"
3rd place and €1,000 goes to "Deino news aggregator"

Latvian cybersecurity unit visits TechHub to recruit new members

On TechHub meetup on May 12th Latvian cybersecurity major Gatis Graudins @Kibersargs visited TechHub Riga monthly meetup. He talked about Latvian cybersecurity unit, explained its work principles and invited tech-savvy Latvian citizens to join. If you are interested, contact TechHub Riga or Gatis directly.  

Startup Weekend provides discounts to students and designers

World's biggest hackathon franchise Startup Weekend is back to Riga with an event taking place on May 22-24 in Riga. Over 100 people have signed up to attend the event on Facebook.  The event takes place in RISEBA H2O building. This was one of the reasons why Startup Weekend team decided to provide 30% discuount to students (code: SWRIGA) and 50% discount to designers (code:SWDESIGNER). Zoomchart rolls out its startup support programme

Latvian interactive SDK for your dataviz-driven UI Zoomcharts now lets startups access its $15,000 worth licence for free. The program was launched at Collision conference in Las Vegas and has already attracted interest from startups across various countries and industries. Find out more here
