Following up after the summer's hackathon on a train, the Riga-Minsk co-operation has moved into the next major transportation hub - an airport.
Today, startups from Latvian and Belarus are congregating in the Riga for a first - Startup Bootcamp in an airport. Specifically, in the Riga International Airport's Magnetic Latvia Business Center.
This event is a follow up of the Riga-Minsk startup train that took place in August, where teams from both countries united for a hackathon on a train going from Minsk to Riga.
The event comes one day before the beginning of the Digital Freedom Festival, which brings an added bonus to the event - some of the key speakers of the event that have already arrived in Riga are particpating in the event as mentors - providing their knowledge and experience to the startup communities of Latvia and Belarus.
The best teams will take the stage at the Digital Freedom Festival on November 30th, and all teams will have the opportunity to participate in and attend the 2-day Digital Freedom Festival event, where they will gain valuable knowledge, establish new contacts and attract interest from potential investors.
Participating teams include the best three teams from the Riga-Minsk hackathon on a train:
- digital prototype development tool “Artyline” from Belarus
- VAT compliance platform “LoVAT” from Latvia
- statistics and analysis tool for retailers and banks “Open Business” from Belarus
They will also be joined by additional teams:
- travel planning app developers “MeetnGreetMe” from Belarus
- cloud technology-based internet of things solutions company “Mazzy”
- business efficiency and profitability assessment tool “Finance Flow”
- construction management platform “Orocon”
- children's football platform for player data and statistics “YoPlayDo”
- manufacturing efficiency measurement solution “InPass”
Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) Director Andris Ozols: “In organising the Bootcamp powered by Magnetic Latvia workshop we want to immediately accomplish two goals – provide access to experienced mentors who are ready to share their knowledge and skills, as well as continue successful cooperation with promising startup teams from Belarus.”
Digital Freedom Festival Co-founder Dagnija Lejiņa: “Attracting new talent and perspective business idea growth both are important for startup ecosystem development. That's why we're organising this event with support from Magnetic Latvia - to give specifically early-stage startups the opportunity to get inspiration and even more confidence in the further development of their idea. During the Digital Freedom Festival, world-renowned technology and business experts will visit Riga, and these startup teams will have the unique opportunity to be the first to meet the festival speakers and investors at the Magnetic Latvia business centre at the Riga International Airport.”
