Mintos platform wins prestigious alternative finance award

Peer-to-peer lending platform Mintos has won the prestigious AltFi (alternative finance) People’s Choice Award, as well as placed second in two more categories: European Alternative Finance Platform of the Year and Aggregator of the Year.

The European Alternative Finance Platform of the Year award is presented to peer-to-peer lending platforms that for the past 12 months have demonstrated substantial growth, fostered innovation in the industry, and excelled at customer service. Meanwhile, the Aggregator of the Year award is presented to companies that offer best help in making investment or attracting capital.

“One of the fundamental values in our business is excellent customer service. We always kept it in mind as we were developing the platform, and we do so in our day-to-day work with investors. We are truly honored to accept this prestigious international award. This achievement is a testament to the high value of the work our team has carried out so far,” emphasized Mintos CEO Mārtiņš Šulte, while also thanking all the investors who voted for and supported Mintos.

Property management platform Rention expands into Israel

Developers of the property management platform Rention continue expanding, they have now also received a request from clients in Israel to combine property management processes into a single system. Cooperation agreements are being signed at the moment with several clients in Israel and, to make it easier for new users there to access the system, the company’s e-platform and website have already been translated into Hebrew and are available on a new website, www.rention.co.il.

The company’s representatives are also in the final stages of making the system in Israel accessible to landlords and tenants, house managers, and service providers in the nearest possible future.

Alternative payment card SAVA.card arrives in Latvia

A new payment card has arrived in the alternative finance segment of Latvia – SAVA.card, a payment card with a credit limit, which is independent from banks and can be ordered online. Transactions with SAVA.card are carried out in the MasterCard system.

SAVA.card is the latest product from the FinTech company VIA SMS Group, and it marks the company’s expansion into the market of payment cards. SAVA.card offers users a credit limit of up to EUR 1,500, and its main advantage is a very simple application process.

Latvia’s first B2B startup accelerator program closes

Latvia’s first B2B startup accelerator Startup Wise Guys Riga Powered by Lattelecom came to a close with a Demo Day on Thursday, December 15, when startups were pitching and presenting their products.

Seven international startups graduated the accelerator program. These teams had been selected from 136 initial applications and came to Riga to live and work for 3 months, attending in total 900 hours of mentoring sessions, developing their business models, preparing for investment rounds and complex sales processes.

Applications open for TechChill Pitch Battle

As of last week, seed round stage startups are invited to apply for Pitch Battle at TechChill. The Pitch Battle is one of the main events during the conference, and one of the best opportunities for new companies to showcase their ideas.

Selection of startups, mentoring sessions and the Pitch Battle are organized in cooperation with Startup Wise Guys, one of the leading startup accelerators in Europe. Applications are open until January 15, but the 10 selected teams will be announced on January 19.

The five teams selected to take part in TechChill Pitch Battle on the main stage will compete for the main prize – a fully paid trip to Silicon Valley, with a full agenda and meetings with selected investors.
